As I said, going further than what I wrote above is only for those with a very detailed manual, a vise, proper punches, and at least a decent amount of amateur gunsmithing ability. Sat Oct 24, 9: The model has an elegantly fitted grip cap. I've scrounged for disassembly instructions and found a write-up in the archives of "American Rifleman". As fast as one could pump the action, another shot would be fired. I also have the M12's little brother - the Model 42 in gauge. I'd still like to remove the corncob forend to remove the gooped-on varnish.

Happy to discover this thread. Slide the bolt back and lift out. It has the battle scars and finish wear to proove the many cold, icy and rainy days it spent in the marsh. I'd like to restore the wood finish, which will require removal of a heavily brushed on layer of polyurethane yuk. The model has an elegantly fitted grip cap.
